M.I.A.

I want to say to the people that read my blog daily I apologize for not posting more often.  The truth is, it is a lot of work to post daily.  It's not just writing, it's remembering to take pictures, uploading said pictures and then figuring out what to write about those pictures and what I did in them.

I knew this would be work but I thought by now I would have more readers.  Not that you are not important.  I feel very blessed that anyone would read what I have to say or share.  That being said I will probably post only a few times a week.  I have a lot coming up, some I can't talk about and the other is my sons graduation in NY and also his wedding.  I have also been out of work for 6 months and although I don't talk about it much I really have to find a job and soon.  I believe in God's timing and I plan on hitting the pavement in May after I get back from NY. If you are a prayer I would love prayer on that.  I do plan on still homeschooling my daughter and I am not looking for some big job, just a part time position that could give us a little extra so we can leave the house once in a while, I am sure you know what I mean.

I thought I owed those that have been reading an explanation.  I do plan on keeping this going for as long as I can.  My books have been completed and are hopefully being looked at by a few publishers. I will keep you posted on that.  I cannot even believe I am typing that sentence. I have never written anything and I have this blog and 2 books, crazy!

Thank you for your patience and please keep checking back with me. I promise to find some interesting things to write about!

Now I am off to get things ready for a garage sale this weekend.  I love going to garage sales but I hate having them.......I will leave you with a picture of Gabby and I at the Casting Crowns concert, our church gave us all tickets to see them ( Mike was there too) it was amazing!

Have a blessed rest of the week!

Megacon 2014!

This weekend we were invited by this lovely couple to attend Megacon, a comic book convention.

Now I am not into comics at all, BUT it was interesting and a new experience for sure.  Here are some pictures from the event.  By the way~ everyone dresses up for this so people watching is awesome!

There were so many people at this, like thousands.  It was crazy and the time and effort some people went to for their costumes was unbelievable.  Above is a family that dressed up like THOR's family. It was great.  There was also celebrities there from different tv shows and movies, I couldn't take pictures of them unless I paid money and stood in line but I did see many of them up close and that was pretty cool.  Overall it was a fun and interesting day.

Thank you Sam and Kelly!

Genuine Love~ is Serving Others

1 Peter 4:9-10
Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in it's various forms.

There are a few things in this passage to think about.  When I read this I first think to myself "Am I serving others or myself?" I see serving one another as also extending grace to one another.  We are so quick to judge others when they do something we wouldn't do or think we wouldn't do but honestly we have no idea how we might react if we were in the same situation.  Everyone is at a different place in their walk and if we are truly following Christ example then we are to love others and not stand in judgement of them. I also believe to truly serve someone is to really know them.  Everyone needs to be served in different ways and the only way to really know how to serve another so they feel loved is to take the time to get to know them.

I also get from this verse that we should be offering ourselves, our time and our resources to others without complaining.  We may be willing to lend things to others or even make dinner for friends but when it comes to our precious time we can be so stingy.  I have to remind myself daily that each breath I take is a gift from God and He gives me that next breath so I can extend His love to those he puts in my life and share my testimony and life with those that need Him.  It's not our time it's all His time!

And last, using our gifts for others and not ourselves.  This is a big one too.  It can be so easy to use our gifts to better ourselves or to elevate ourselves above others.  We are not to use them to self serve.  Our gifts are meant to bring others to the Lord, period.  If you find yourself wanting the glory for what you have been gifted to do then it's time to stop and pray and search your motives and change how you are using them.

We should always be in conversation with God to see what we need to work on daily.  Whether it's being a better friend, spouse, mother or maybe just loving strangers instead of ignoring them.

We all need help from time to time no matter where you are in your walk to have genuine love for others, we have to serve them.

Today take the time to search your heart and ask God what you can work on to be more like Christ and less like you.

You are loved

Birchbox Review for March 2014!

Here is my review for the products I received from my Birchbox subscription.  I got a pretty good one again and I have and will use everything.

I didn't take individual pictures but I will list the products below and what I think about them.

1. Stila Lipgloss: Full size ! 8.00 I like this lipgloss and the color is a nice pink which I love. It goes on nice and I like to use this to layer over my lipstick that is a little drying.

2. Air Repair Rescue Balm - sample but full size cost 12.00.  I used this a few times and at the beach it is nice, it is just a plain lip balm nothing to write home about.

3. Supergoop- sample full size 20-42.00, I used this when I went to the beach under my makeup ( yes I wear makeup to the beach ) I have to cover all those sunspots from my teen years. This is nice and light but again its not super great but I will use it.

4. DKNY Be Delicious perfume sample, this smells great I really like it, the full size cost is 60-75.00.  I probably wouldn't buy the full size but I like the sample:)

Then my Birchbox find alert was the BB Lotion from Jergens which I really like a lot.  I love the smell of Jergens lotion and whether or not this will really help my skin I don't know but I did get a coupon also so I may get the bigger size when i run out.

Overall it was a good box - not great, but good.  I will use everything and as always I love trying new products and samples.  It was worth the 10.00 for sure.

* I did also get my Ipsy which was GREAT! I will review that one hopefully on Thursday!

Have a blessed day! Love you and thank you for reading.

What were we thinking?

Happy Monday to you! Well we had a busy weekend and I have lots of pictures to prove it.

Friday: Mike got home early so we headed to pick up some hand me down furniture from family for Gabby.  Her room looks so cute and she is a happy camper.

Then we were off to our friends house to practice for worship we do on Monday nights and on the way there we saw these.....

A sweet family of bears!

Saturday: So we new Saturday was going to be beautiful,so we headed to the beach ( I know we are super lucky to live in Florida) so we decided on Daytona Beach because we haven't been there in years and I couldn't even remember the beach at all so off we went.  As we drove out there we saw tons of motorcycles and so we guessed it may be bike week, well it was all right.  In all my years I have never been to bike week and I can honestly say I will NEVER go back when that is going on.  It is safe to say you could also call it sin city week.  We walked around the streets and every where you looked it was bikes, outside bars and half naked girls, it was not good, so we got out of the crowd as fast as we could and headed back to the beach.

These were taken BEFORE going into the crowd and mayhem.

The Beach was beautiful!

There was actually a lot of people, this was just a quite spot

We saw tons of these.......

Jellyfish

Sunday: Church and taking care of the lawn and home stuff and getting ready for the week!

I hope you had a great weekend and I will chat with you tomorrow!

Friday's Fitness Fun!

Good Morning and Happy Friday to you!  This week went by so fast and was quite busy.  I thought I would end the week sharing my workout for this morning.  It has been a while since I talked about fitness, not because I have been lacking it but mostly because I forget to take pictures:)

Today's workout was from none other than Fitness Blender.  Seriously if you haven't tried this site you really need to go and check it out, they are amazing and it's totally FREE!

I don't know if you can read the top left corner but I did the 64 minute, 1000 calorie workout.  I don't burn anywhere close to 1000 calories that is the high end but I love this workout because it's hard, there is a ton of variety and the time goes by fast.  There are so many great workouts on this site, I am always changing things up and challenging myself.

Give it a try this weekend and let me know what you think of the site.

Have a great weekend!
